What to Bring

On the walk:

  • Comfortable day pack (approx. 30Lt)
  • Pack cover (and/or a pack liner)
  • Strong and comfortable hiking boots
  • Gaiters
  • Walking poles
  • Something waterproof to sit on
  • A First Aid Kit including personal medical items
  • Participant’s Emergency Contact and Medical Information form, in a sealed ziplock bag
  • Water
  • Lunch and snacks
  • Come prepared for all weather and carry appropriate clothing
    • Fleece or warm jacket
    • Raincoat and waterproof over pants
    • Warm and comfortable clothing
    • Sunhat/warm hat
  • Sunscreen and DEET Mosquito Repellent
  • Sunglasses and fly veil if you have one
  • Whistle
  • Toilet paper and spade
  • Hand sanitiser and mask

CASH

Bring some small denomination cash for raffle tickets and for carpooling if required. Check the details for the walks you have selected. Many leave from and return directly to the Event Hub in Halls Gap. Others however require transport to the start and, for one-way walks, a car shuffle.

You will have been asked when booking if you can volunteer your vehicle for carpooling. Leaders will organise as necessary. Passengers are to give cash directly to their driver.
