The Glenelg River is stunning for canoeing, fishing, swimming, and camping. See Lower Glenelg National Park. And NELSON, (70km from Portland), if you are not camping, is a delightful little hamlet at the river mouth, with great accommodation options. Stay on in Nelson and do more day walks, so much to explore.

Lake Mombeong offers camping alongside the spring fed lake that will delight you with sunsets over its pure, clear water. A short walk from the Lake takes you over to the ocean beach where you are sure to find something joyful and memorable. Bring your SUPP or kayak to get the most out of your stay.

A day trip to Mt Richmond is a must; several short walks to choose from along with BBQ and toilet facilities. Always a koala!

The Friends of the Great South West Walk have a Short Walks Book, which is a great resource for planning some extra days exploring.

Maybe four days won’t be long enough?
