The Venue

The Licola Wilderness Village is located at Licola, 250 km east of Melbourne.  Accommodation is in cabins containing 3 or 4 bedrooms with bunks.  An all-inclusive package, including meals and accommodation, is being offered.  Special dietary requirements will be catered for.

Facilities outside the village are limited.  A basic General Store is across the road from the Village.  Fuel is available from the General Store. A public telephone is located near the General Store.  In April 2021, a small cell mobile phone tower was installed and commissioned in Licola.  Coverage is local to the township.

The Licola-Heyfield Road is sealed. All but two walks are accessed using the Tamboritha Road.  This road is sealed for the first 22km after which the road becomes a gravel road which may be heavily corrugated. In addition, there are numerous bends and tight curves along this section. Care should be taken when negotiating this road.
