Social program


At the Cumberland Resort Hotel, Mountjoy Parade, Lorne. Dinner will be in The Otway Room (Level 2) at The Cumberland.  The main entrance is in Mountjoy Parade and an alternate entry is at the rear of the building in Smith Street.  Car parking is also available in Smith Street.

Pre dinner drinks from 6.30 pm. Drinks will be available at bar prices.

Dinner served at 7 pm. Dress: neat casual.

The dinner will be a buffet-style meal with two courses and will cater for all dietary requirements. It will be followed by complementary tea and coffee.

Cost per person is $45, payable when booking.


 Diners will be treated to an extensive, static display of historical photographs kindly loaned to us by the Lorne Historical Society.  Featured photographs are from the late 1800’s up to the 20th Century. These images include many bushwalking groups in the Otway Ranges, also iconic Erskine House now The Mantra and Lorne town before development. The Great Ocean Road construction photographs are a feature of this display.  

VCAL students of Lorne/Airey’s Inlet P12 School have produced a professional, informative video, about the construction of the world renowned Great Ocean Road. This will be featured in the entry foyer as pre-dinner entertainment.

Tea, coffee and water will be availablefrom 9.30 am to 5.00 pm. Water top-ups for drink bottles/hydration packs will be available from 7.00am to 5.00pm.

Afternoon tea, in the form of a delicious collection of cakes, biscuits and slices, will be offered at the end of each day's walks from 2.30 to 5.00 pm.
