Walk Assembly times:

Please register early, and gather well ahead of your walk assembly time where you see your walk number displayed in the Hall. Your walk group will depart very shortly after the assembly time, as it is some distance from the Registration Hall to where the drivers’ cars or the bus transport will be located.

Know your walk number for the day, as these will be clearly displayed – it is here you will meet your walk leader.

Remember that all Otway walks can be slippery after rain; good soles on your boots are a must and poles are strongly advised.

A walk leader and co-leader [whip] will guide each walk. Most walks will also have a qualified First-Aider along. Bushwalking etiquette should be observed throughout your walk, and this includes respecting the leader’s judgement and following their instructions. All walkers should remain behind the leader on the track and ahead of the whip.

And please ensure you have updated your Emergency contact phone number on your phone!

Help Desk is open:

Friday 18th - 4.00 pm – 6.00 pm

Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th - 7.00 am – 5.00 pm

We will do our best to help you whatever your request, but there may not be many choices left if you decide on the day that a walk for which you have registered is no longer within your capability. So, choose wisely! NO refunds are on offer for last minute cancellations!

For general Tourist Information, the real experts are just 100m down the road at the Lorne Visitor Information Centre [turn left out the front door of the Registration Hall] – open each day from 9am to 5pm. See page below called Facilities in Lorne.

Photography Policy for 2019 Federation Walk

Photography and making video recordings during Fed Walk activities is generally permitted in public places. You may choose to “opt out” of any posed photos at the time, however other photos or videos could be taken of you which do not have your specific knowledge or permission. This may be for a variety of reasons, such as you were out of earshot of the photographer or you were in the background and not noticed by them. If an image of you is later published, for example in a Club Newsletter or on social media, and you would like it to be removed, then please contact the relevant publisher who should comply with your request.
